MADAME YVETTE
Yvette Gilbert, one of the best know cabaret singers in Paris around the turn of the 1900s, was a favourite model of the painter Toulouse-Lautrec. Two prints of Yvette, done by Lautrec, are seen in this room, while the colors used in the interior decoration complement these paintings. A unique play on modern color combines with an antique feel.
Madame Yvette is a luxury room with a large, separate balcony where you can relax, unwind and enjoy the beautiful view of the swimming pool, garden and distant mountains.
OUT OF AFRICA
The idea of this room is based on the novel by Baroness Karin von Blixen-Finecke, a memoir of her years spent on a farm in East Africa.
She gives a vivid account of the 17 years spent on the coffee plantation in Kenya and colonial life at the time. The classic room brings the rich traditional colours of Africa to life. With a small balcony, you can relax, unwind and enjoy the swimming pool and garden view.
MARRAKESH
The town of Marrakesh, situated in Morocco, features a unique style of architecture. Its use of colour in tiles and fabric was influenced by its historical contact with Spain. Our uniquely styled room, Marrakesh, was inspired by these distinctive colours, the geometrically painted tiles, and the highest quality fabrics. It resembles the lifestyle and artistic view brought out by Marrakech and the distinct local blend of design and décor. This sunny room is on ground level and walks out onto a patio with a table and chairs overlooking the pool.
THE STUDIO
Inspired by American city life, we took a creative approach and coordinated a style that extends throughout this apartment, not restricting our guests’ creativity and expressive potential. Our theme has made this room a fully functional and stand-alone apartment. Incorporated is a kitchenette with a washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, microwave, complete stove top and oven, and a dining table with a lounge area.
THE GREAT GATSBY
The 1925 novel written by F. Scott Fitzgerald follows a cast of characters on prosperous Long Island in the summer of 1922. It explores the age of the roaring twenties and inspires us to recreate the feeling through this room. Relive art Deco with a touch of old Hollywood.
Shiny, metallic, ornamental, lace, silk, drama and brilliant contrasts. This room has a kitchenette with a microwave, sink, fridge, cutlery and crockery.
With a small private balcony, you can relax, unfold and enjoy the swimming pool and garden view.
VENICE
Venice, the romantic city in Italy with its many waterways crisscrossing through it, has a history dating from the 6th century. Our intimate luxury room is set to take you back to the romantic and luxurious city that is Venice. Inspired by our love for Venice, the room effortlessly mixes an elegance of antique and modern. It is incredibly stylish with an Italian architectural feel. This sunny room is on ground level and walks out onto a patio with a table and chairs. This is also our wheelchair-friendly room which runs out toward the pool area.
PIERROT
This stylish sunny room in black and grey with a touch of red is a favourite of many guests. This room is on ground level, with French doors on the patio adjacent to the swimming pool.
Pierrot, the famous character from the Italian commedia dell’arte, is set by the composer A. Schoenberg as the moonstruck and fantastical clown, symbolising putting on a mask to hide one’s true feelings or opinions.
A love for art and rich fabrics, lavishly used and displayed throughout the guesthouses creates a unique sense of warmth, style and charm.
